HOLY COMMUNION

Who Can Receive Holy Communion?

Holy Communion can be an important part of our journey towards faith.

The Lord’s table is open to anybody who loves the Lord.

It is up to each person to reflect on their own faith journey and decide whether or not they would like to receive Holy Communion.

What To Expect

At First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, we often celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month, or during important holidays.

When you come to Church for Holy Communion, you will notice that things look a little different to our usual Sunday Worship days.

The Church will have been ‘dressed’, with a white cloth on the Communion Table.

During the service, members of the Session will hand out small pieces of bread, and cups of Communion wine, symbolizing the body and blood of Jesus, to the congregation.

The act of receiving Holy Communion symbolizes our community coming together to share a meal in which God nourishes our faith.

Can't Make It To Holy Communion?
