Sunday mornings are filled with energy, grace, praise, prayer, education, and welcome to all people.
During the school year, from August through May, three distinctly different styles of worship are offered each Sunday to ensure you experience the fullness of the good news of Jesus Christ. We also offer chances for fellowship, child and adult education classes, and opportunities for hands-on mission. Here's what a Sunday at First Pres might look like:
8:45 - Coffee in the Gathering Space
Each morning coffee and snacks are available in the Gathering Space so people can relax, mingle, and catch up with friends new and old.
8:15 – Communion Service
This 45-minute service in the Sanctuary is a quieter version of a traditional service with hymns, prayers, a sermon, and the sacrament of the Lord's Supper celebrated each Sunday.
This class is geared for adults interested in learning about matters of the faith from top scholars in our region. Professors from Wash U., SLU, Eden Seminary, as well as experts in their fields provide stimulating insights to encourage us in our understanding of various aspects of the faith.
9:05 – Arise! Praise Service
This 55-minute service in Fellowship Hall is full of song and celebration, incorporating drama and fun into a relaxed worship experience where coffee and casual attire are welcome.
This is our 'Sunday School' hour, with multiple offerings throughout the building for children and adults. This is also the time when we do hands-on congregational mission activities.
11:00 – Traditional Service
This hour long service in the Sanctuary is Reformed worship at its best. Featuring our Casavant Pipe Organ, the Chancel Choir, wonderful preaching, prayers, and monthly communion (the last Sunday of the month), this service inspires, comforts, and equips the saints for service for the rest of the week.
Children are ALWAYS welcome in worship.
Children's bulletins or packets are available. Throughout the morning, loving childcare is provided for babies and toddlers. Pagers are available for your comfort.
