Children and Families
Worship
We welcome all ages to each of our three Worship services. With special attention to enhancing the worship experience of children, we provide age appropriate worship bulletins and activity bags.
Learning
Sunday School for preschool through senior high is held each Sunday during the school year from 10:00 to 10:50 AM. The Seasons of the Spirit curriculum is used through eighth grade. Our teachers provide nurturing and creative leadership for our youngest Christians as they grow in their faith.
Nursery
Our newly expanded nursery is available on Sunday mornings to care for your little ones. Professional, loving caregivers tend to the needs of infants and toddlers. Pagers are available for easy communication.
Children’s and Youth Music
Check out our Music web page.
Sunday mornings
Children in Grades Kindergarten through 5 will gather in the Chapel at 9:50 a.m. for songs and an interactive introduction to the themes of the day. They will then go to their classrooms with their teachers. Parents are invited to visit any time; come see what we are doing! There will also be handouts outside each classroom door with all kinds of great ideas about how we can be partners with you in our children’s Christian Education. Please take a look at some of our pictures at the bottom of the page.
10:00 a.m.
Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten age children will be welcomed directly to their classroom 130 by a great team of experienced Sunday School teachers.
Middle School (Room 278) and High School (Room 005) students are encouraged to check out what's new for you as we begin this exciting new time with our new Youth Director and terrific team of Sunday School teachers.
The Children and Family Team invites all of you to come by and enjoy the growing activity in Sunday School! We will be everywhere in the building ! Come upstairs and see our faces and handprints on the wall, and come on in to our classrooms.
Check out the area by the back entrance to see the Children's Garden - all kinds of growth in progress! Great old Bible stories (from Moses to stories of the earliest Christian communities) mixed with our great facilities and our busy Sunday School teachers make a wonderful mix to help us grow.

Green Tree Parade and Baby Comfort Station

Giving Trees and Birthday Party for Jesus
The Giving Trees and Birthday Party for Jesus are an Advent mission activity for all ages for fun and to benefit adopted families from Joint Neighborhood Ministries.
Fellowship Activities
Tweens
"Tweens" are the newest youth fellowship group at First Pres. Tweens are that in-between age (3rd, 4th and 5th grade), and will meet for fun and fellowship at specially scheduled events. If you are starting 3rd, 4th or 5th grade this year we want you to also be apart of our Tween TEAM!
LOGOS
Mix together children from Kindergarten through Middle School with loving adult volunteers every Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and you have LOGOS, a wonderful ministry where "kids" of all ages PLAY and PRAY and SING and EAT!
Did you know there are "themes" to each night of LOGOS? Our creative leaders interweave the theme (such as Crazy Hat Night or PJ Night) into the activities and dinner hour each week. Did you know our magnificent Kitchen King and Queen, Dave and Maggie Albers, create a tasty, healthy meal each Wednesday night?
Did you know there is free child care for preschool-age children of adult volunteers? All your LOGOS questions can be answered by Gayle Taylor. Call or e-mail her at 314-965-0326 or gtaylor@kirkwoodpres.org. Check out the Logos brochure and registration form on this page! Lots of cute pictures, too!
